Comments: For our first free day three of us decided to explore the Oberberg Valley. After crossing to the north side of the Oberbergbach the tarmac road soon changed to a grassy path as it headed across meadows and farmland. A friendly group of cows decided to lead the way along a fenced track but had to stay behind when we reached a gate. At Seduck we dropped down to the road and found a suitable spot for lunch. Returning down the road we took advantage of a forest path that paralleled the river for a time. After reaching Milders we continued on to Neustift to catch the bus back to the hotel.

Oberbergbach

Spotting a waterfall . . .

I take a closer look

Looking back down the valley . . .

I try out an 'artistic' shot

A couple of young cows keep their eyes on us

Just at the side of the road . . .

a lovely little chapel

First time I have seen beehives in Austria . . .

which look quite different to English ones

Just the spot for a short break

Nearby it looks like the hay . . .

has been hung out to dry

The cows decide to lead the way . . .

but are stopped in their tracks . . .

when we reach the gate

Couldn't identify this one

The valley is sparsely populated . . .

but has lots of flowers . . .

including an alpine thistle

Pick a rock - as take a lunch break . . .

before we head back down the valley . . .

past more friendly cows
